September 2, 2012 Tumbling Creek Farm

Ruthie and Jimmy have gotten to know a couple who sell produce at the local growers market, and today we went to see their farm - Tumbling Creek Farm. They have chickens, goats, a sheep, 2 cats, 1 dog, and a huge garden. They also have built a new home and are using their old home to grow mushrooms. They explained the process and it was fascinating - we must have asked a million questions. They used compressed straw bales for the walls of their house, with adobe on the outside and home-made clay "mud" on the inside, with a wonderful texture. Very cool!
