June 24, 2016 Niquette Bay State Park, Burlington, VT

After leaving the Boston area, we headed straight for Burlington, Vermont, on the shore of Lake Champlain.  Unfortunately, the last 75 miles of our drive were Not Good, as the truck's transmission started to slip.  Yikes!  We limped into Burlington with a sigh of relief.  First order of business was to locate a Chevy dealership and make arrangements for repair or replacement.  The next morning, we drove the truck to the Shearer dealership, where they were extremely nice and very competent.  When we asked for a ride to the local Enterprise car rental agency, Heath Bedell told us they could rent us a vehicle for only $40 per day.  (!!!! bargain!)  They sent us away in a brand new Chevy Sierra.  Now THAT is what I call service!  Long story short, they replaced the transmission and torque converter (whatever that is) in two days.  Plus changed the oil and aligned the front end.  Needless to say, we are very pleased with those folks!

Driving our new Sierra rental, we wandered around town a bit and took care of business, then went up to see Niquette Bay State Park.  What a jewel!  One parking area and the rest is hiking trails.  Below are some pictures we took on our hike down to the beach on the Bay.

The words on the side are: "Mondrian Insect Hotel - Vacancy"
Lovely little beach with a cool stream flowing to the lake.

Of course I shucked the shoes right away.....
Nice trail!
