June 6 Provincetown, MA again...

Afer the brunch, the 9 members of the Nykvist gang headed back to P-Town again, only this time we were on foot instead of bikes. As always with this bunch, it was like herding cats and it's a miracle we managed to get ourselves to the same places at the same time. We walked the town, then we climbed the Pilgrim Monument. It was built to commemorate the original landing of the pilgrims; they went over to the mainland at Plymouth AFTER they landed at P-Town. The monument has almost no stairs; instead, there are sloped ramps on each side. Even those of us with bad knees and feet were able to get up to the top. There was a storm approaching, and the wind was gusting through the top at about 30 mph - we could hardly stand up on that side of the top. Exhilarating!

Inside the Pilgrim Monument, ramps instead of stairs. Check out the windblown hair!

Three views from the top of the Pilgrim Monument. The water is Cape Cod Bay.
