June 8 Nantucket, MA

Today we all brought our bikes and took the high-speed ferry (80 min.) to Nantucket Island. The ferry ride alone was fantastic, and Nantucket was even better. First we walked around the Nantucket Basin historic district, where the streets are cobblestone. Then we hopped on our bikes and rode to Surfside Beach. The day started clear and sunny, but by afternoon scattered storms were popping up all over. We boarded the ferry a little early because it started to rain, and we were all tired! The skies were quite dramatic on the ferry ride back to Cape Cod.

Departing Harwich Port on Cape Cod. High speed is right! Sisters enjoying the ride.

Bubba showing his true colors. Nannie loving the ride. Approaching Nantucket.

Jimmy & Rus, NOT bonding. Anne rescuing her dropped sock. Beach homes.

The whole gang at Surfside Beach. Historic grist mill, can be rotated into the wind. Kayaks in many colors.

Nantucket harbor - hungry? Cobblestone street. Classic weathered shingle buildings.

Historic town square. Strange tourist types. The ferry we rode.

Dramatic skies on the ferry ride back. Ruthie & Jimmy having a good time.
