July 19, 2012 Tower loop drive

On the drive around the "loop" to and from Devil's Tower, we stopped here and there.

1. Last view of Devil's Tower.
2. This sign shows that many generations of the Wood family have ranched here; around here these folks would be called "old settlers".
3. In the metropolis of Aladdin we stopped at the general store, which has been in business for 110 years.

Two interior shots of the general store - they still heat the place with that old wood-stove! And the front view....

1. Plunked down in the middle of a field, no roads to it, no rails for it: a caboose!
2, 3. In the town of Sundance, Wyoming, there is a statue of the outlaw known later as the Sundance Kid. He was arrested and jailed for horse thieving, and later escaped. (His real name was Harry A. Longabaugh)
