July 27, 2012 Glacier National Park, Many Glaciers

On our second day in Glacier, we drove around the bottom of the park, thru the Marias Pass, and up to Many Glaciers, for a totally different view of these mountains. Here we hiked 4+ miles round trip past a couple of lakes and waterfalls. It is high summer here in the northern Rocky Mountains, and there are flowers blooming everywhere you look.

Harebell and unidentified white flower. Ground squirrel who squeaked loudly at us. Indian paintbrush was everywhere.

Happy hiker. Aspen trees. Red Rock Lake.

Bubba standing on some red rock. (it really is red) View of Mt. Grinnell.

Mountain Man! Red Rock Falls. Dead trees (fire killed 'em) that look sort of like toothpicks....
