September 13, 2015 Bryce Canyon National Park

Trust me:  no picture can do justice to this place.  The "wow factor" is quite intense.  Never saw so many hoodoos in my life!  Totally fascinating place.  This is all created by the power of water and the winter freezing & thawing actions.  Plus wind.  Sandstone is soft and easily eroded, hence this place exists.  These are a bunch of random images from the main canyon and also the overlooks along the way.  There were lots of hikes to take, including some down in the canyon, but we just never had enough time for a 2-hour hike.  Someday.....

These reminded me of chess pieces.
