September 16-21, 2015 The long drive home.....

Every wonderful summer trip comes to an end, and so we are now headed towards home.  Here are some random images from our six-day drive east.....  Til next year, my friends!

Stopped in Albuquerque long enough to have an early lunch with my
long-time friend and co-worker (now retired!) Charlotte, and her friend Mike.
Where we ate in Albuquerque - the Owl Cafe.   (pesky street light!)
Driving through canyonlands area and found a BIG boulder beside the road.
How I feel about being in the canyonlands area....
The Vermillion Cliffs.  Gotta tell ya, they were mighty RED.
"Scattered thunderstorms"
Taken from about 7000 ft.
Two steps in The Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument, first the white and then the red.

Oh lookie here!  Lava on the roadside - again!  This stuff is everywhere out west...
Those crazy buried Cadillacs at Cadillac Ranch outside Amarillo, Texas.
How's this for irony?  Wind turbines, and coal train destined for a power plant.
"Clean" energy and "dirty" energy.

  1. I'm thinking ... you'll just have to come back, and maybe we can do some of it together!!! Yes?
