We went back into
Zion National Park today and did a little hiking in the rain. (first we got some rain ponchos, altho Bubba ended up not wearing his so he could take pictures) We rode the park shuttle to the last stop and hiked the
Riverside Walk Trail up to
The Narrows hiking trail begins. We did the 2 mile roundtrip hike in the rain, and it was spectacular! We saw waterfalls that most people don't get to see. Today the Virgin River was running at about 500 CFM (cubic feet per minute); normal is about 55 CFM. (note: the flash flood yesterday was at 2600 CFM)

| The water was as much mud as it was water.... |

| Fantastic waterfall, only on rainy days.... |
Next we rode the shuttle down to the Zion Lodge and the Emerald Pools trail. Still raining but we went anyhow. The trail was paved, but with mud! It was a nice hike up to some waterfalls, but guess what: they were in full rainy-day flow and it was very thrilling to walk the trail behind them as they thundered and roared! Bubba took a couple pictures, but it was difficult with mist and water everywhere. We never made it to the actual pools - we were both cold and wet and Zion Lodge Cafe was nearby with hot coffee and shelter from the weather....
