July 20, 2018 Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, ME

When we left Newfound Lake, we headed straight for the coast of Maine.  Our campground is in Scarborough, just below the big city of Portland.  It's a lovely spot to camp;  we are overlooking a tidal marsh fed by the Nonesuch River.  (love that name)  After settling in, we took a drive out to Cape Elizabeth and had a bite to eat.  Here are the pictures:

Wonderful campsite!
Nice place to sit.

You can see in this picture how all the rocks are lined up in the same direction.
Almost looks like petrified wood.
The lighthouse.  Alas, it was off limits and this was as close as we could get.
Lucky us!  Out on the cape is the Lobster Shack!
So of course we had to order our first lobster rolls of this coastal visit.
They were really-really good!
A view of the cape with the shadows falling on it;
the vertical shadow on the far left is made by the lighthouse.
A view of the sunset pink skies over the tidal marsh behind our camper.
Life is gooooood.

  1. Sweet place to camp. I've seen rock slabs like these on a beach also ... makes you wonder the hows/whys of their origin ....
