July 2, 2016 Eastport, Maine

We spend most of a day messing around in Eastport, checking out the little waterfront town.  We really like this place.  It's old and has a lot of character.  So much classic New England architecture, blooming bushes everywhere, and streets that are NOT flat.  Here are some random shots:

Some sort of waterfront factory-type building that was damaged by a storm.

The Library.  (not a Carnegie Library, tho)

Lovely lupines.
Dogwood!
Water street downtown, decked out for the fourth of July.
This area has been inhabited by Native Americans for a long, long time.

And then the highlight of the day:  the Dog Show! Many of the dogs were rescued (think: dog pound) and it was mentioned each time.  Never in my life have I seen a dog show like this one. Apparently it's not restricted to only dogs!  Here are the pictures...

Pet pig!
Patriotic!
So darn cute!
Nubian goat!
Maine Coon cat!
Rabbit!  With a young lady dressed as Alice.....
And last, but not least:  Larry the Lobster!
When the emcee asked these girls if Larry was a rescue, they said he was rescued from the IGA grocery store.
The crowd was chanting "La-rry!  La-rry!"  What a hoot!

  1. I'd rescue Larry from the IGA, too, and then I'd rescue him from a boiling pot of water, if you get my drift!
