June 28 Wrens, Georgia

This was an overnight stop on the way home (Boss's RV Park) that turned out to be pretty interesting - you never know what you'll find out in the "middle of nowhere"!

There were 200 acres of gourds growing all around the campground. Farm sunset.

Walked down a dirt farm road and discovered an abandoned farmhouse. Interesting!

Our campground, with (of course) gourd birdhouses - and lots of birds.

At the nearby Gourd Farm, thousands of drying gourds. The old shed with a lifetime of implements nailed to the outside. Inside the shed.

June 25 Williamsburg, Virginia

We thought we couldn't have picked a much hotter day to visit Williamsburg - except that the NEXT it was supposed to be over 100! We drank a lot of water and went anyway. According to the historical timeline followed there, Williamsburg was under British occupation. We enjoyed our visit, but recommend cooler weather.....

June 22 Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

After Rus & Anne left for home, we four toured the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, which was breathtaking! It included wonderful plantings of blooming beauties, plus hiking trails through the woods down to the water. What's not to like?

First, the hike:

Down by the water. A piece of art.

More pieces of art. View through the woods.

Ruthie the photographer. Gneiss rock. Info sign.

Meditation garden.

Now the blooming beauties:

June 21 Gray Homestead campground, Maine

This afternoon we hung out around the campground, including the beach/shore. For supper we had lovely boiled lobsters we got for $6 per pound from the campground owner, who just happens to trap lobsters! YUM!

The Underwoods! Our camper, perched on the hill. The Wilkinsons & Nykvists.

The squirrels here are TINY! Schooners in the harbor. Anne guards against too much sun.

The pier at the campground. Underwoods enjoying the weather!

On the waterfront at the campground. Fresh lobsters! Yum!
