March 25-29, 2010 Meaher State Park, Mobile Bay Causeway, Alabama

Meaher State Park is right on Mobile Bay, on the old causeway. Thru traffic uses the I-10 Bayway, but the causeway is still functional and has much less traffic. It also includes some very good seafood restaurants.

Getting set up and settled in for a few days.

Interesting boardwalk out into a small island in the bay; I bet when the weather warms up there will be plenty of creatures to observe. Downtown Mobile on the other side of the bay.

Huge T-shaped fishing pier from the campground into the bay (Bubba talking with a fisherman); view of the campground from the pier; sunset.

Family foolishness in our camper!

March 10, 2010: New Camper!

Here is our new camper, a Bullet by Keystone. We saw it at an RV show and liked it so much we put money down to hold it. Turns out the RV dealer is the same one we've already been dealing with, so that's a plus. Most of these pictures are self-explanatory.

It has what's called a mini-slideout, which means it only slides out about 1.5 feet, instead of the usual 2-3 feet. The slideout includes the sofa and the kitchen.
