March 28, 2010 Fairhope Bayfront Parks

We took our bikes to the Fairhope Pier, and then we rode in the parks both down by the water's edge and up on the top of the bluff. It was a crystal-clear gorgeous day and we had a fantastic time, just riding along and taking pictures. Fairhope is beautiful, particularly in the spring.











A striking bed of tulips; old Glory and sailboats; bluebird on a purple martin house.











Venerable oak tree, some kind of cherry tree; and lorapetalum (purple fringe bush).

March 27, 2010 Azalea Trail 10K Run, Mobile, Alabama

Here we are at the start: Nannie, brother Rob, sister Ruthie and her husband Jimmy. Brother Rob is the tall geeky one. I'm the cute one in pink. Ruthie and Jimmy are the other two.....












The folks on course of the ATR are always interesting. The belly dancers show up every year, and on the major turns of the course we are graced with the presence of the Azalea Trail Maids. I always ask to see their shoes, and they are happy to show them.... After the race we spent some time at the race Expo.
