July 23, 2014 Ferry ride from PEI to Nova Scotia

Today we left the Prince Edward Island and took a ferry back to Nova Scotia.  It was a medium-size ferry and a 45-minute trip.  They even had live entertainment!  I spent the whole time up top with the wind in my face, which is where I love to be.  Looked for whales, seals, dolphins, but saw none.....

Hoy!  We are first in line, in the camper section!

Leaving PEI.

Cute guy!

Gorgeous day for sailing!

Have any of you read, or seen, "The Life of Pi"?
That's what I thought of when seeing these lifeboats.....

Cormorants, just hanging around....

Our live entertainment.
I swear, they sounded like they were straight from Mulates!
They even played Jolie Blonde, no kidding!

Our sister ferry, headed the other way.

July 22, 2014 Confederation Trail, St. Peters, PEI

Today we took a lovely scenic drive to St. Peters and strolled along the Confederation Trail.  It follows along the side of a beautiful bay, full of mussel-farming!  We always enjoy riding or hiking on rails-to-trails because they are mostly flat and therefore easy to hike and look around at the same time...

July 21, 2014 Prince Edward Island National Park, north seashore drive

We are camped at the top-center part of Prince Edward Island, at Cavendish.  Today we drove the coastal road and visited the national park shores all along the way.  Some places are sandstone bluffs, and some are reddish sand beaches.  What a delightful day!  I shucked off my shoes & socks and waded in the water, which was warmer than I expected.  (shallow shore-water warmed by the sun)  The little streams that were flowing into the ocean were VERY cold.  This part of the island is unspoiled, with fields of grain and potatoes everywhere.  Harbors with fishing boats.  Simple neatly-kept homes.  This part is known as the "Anne of Green Gables" area, since the author Lucy Maud Montgomery grew up here.  The "Anne" story is based next-door to where we are camped.  We regret that we only have 2 days to enjoy this place, and hope to get back here one-a-these-days.

Beautiful flowers crowd right to the edge of every shore.
Gotta love the signage around here!

Saw lots of these jellyfish.
Looks like it could be painful!
