Oct. 8, 2011 Table Lake Dam and Fish Hatchery

This is a BIG dam that makes Table Rock Lake on one side and Lake Taneycomo on the other. Lake Taneycomo is apopular trout fishing place because it's kept stocked. The Fish Hatchery is all about rainbow and brown trout.

Me in front of the dam; Bubba in front of Taneycomo Lake; and the fish hatchery.

A resident of the fish hatchery; a resident of the aquarium at the hatchery (my what a big MOUTH you have!); and a herd of trout fishermen in the catch-and-release area below the dam, practicing their art.

October 7, 2011 Sons of the Pioneers & Shepherd of the Hills

The Shepherd of the Hills complex includes, among other things, a 230 ft. tower (we went up) with a zipline down for those feeling adventurous (we didn't), the Sons of the Pioneers dinner show, and the SOTH drama.

Behind the Shepherd of the Hills sign you can see the top of the tower; a view of the fall colors from the top of the tower; and 4 adventurous folks zipping down from the tower.

The Sons of the Pioneers, and two pictures of the Shepherd of the Hills drama (sorry they are blurry...)

October 6, 2011 Cooper Creek Campground, Branson, Missouri

This is our home in Branson. It's mighty comfy!

Nice dock on Lake Taneycomo (Once the White River, and still looks like a river...); Bubba being silly by a sign; and a closeup of a passionflower.

October 5, 2011 Garvan Woodland Gardens, Hot Springs

Today's excursion was to the Garvan Woodland Gardens, south of Hot Springs. What a fabulous place! We wish we'd had two days to spend wandering around here.

Bubba contemplating the koi pond; strange fruit on a pine tree - they are preparing for a Christmas Light spectacular; and a gulf fritillary butterfly on lantana.

The "full moon" bridge; the two of us near to top of the full moon bridge; and me in front of a beauty-berry bush (also called turkey-berry) (y'all stop laughing, now...)

Koi hoping for food; Mr. Peacock; and Mrs. Peacock.

Beautiful white flower with pink racing stripes; golden pheasant; and bog-haw berries.

Waterfall at the koi pond, and two views of a waterfall-with-cave in the Children's Adventure Garden area.

A colorful rooster-type bird in a cage; the Carpenter Dam on Lake Hamilton; and a lovely red wildflower.

October 4, 2005 Hot Springs, Arkansas

We started with the Mountain Tower for a panoramic view of the area. Then we wandered down "bath house row" which was unique!

The view from our campsite; the Mountain Tower; and the view of Hot Springs from 250 ft. up.

The Promenade; the Buckstaff Bath House (I got a pedicure here!) and steaming HOT water from a natural spring.

The cold-water spring where we filled our jug; a hot-water spring that's made a lot of calcification; and our visit with wonderful old friends who moved up here.

The restored Arlington Hotel & Spa, the statue out front, and the opulent lobby.

9/30/2011 Natchitoches, LA

When we got to Natchitoches, we found out they are having a Classic Car show this weekend, so we wandered down to the historic downtown on the Cane River to see 'em. Bubba is standing in front of a 1950 Ford, which is the first car he ever owned. Of course, his didn't look much like THIS customized beauty! After looking at the cars, we had a delicious dinner at The Landing.
