July 8, 2013 Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana

The Museum of the Rockies is wonderful!  Affiliated with Montana State University, it houses the largest collection of dinosaur remains in the United States, possessing the largest Tyrannosaurus skull ever discovered, as well as the thigh bone of a Tyrannosaurus rex that contains soft-tissue remains.   Also part of the museum is the Living History Farm, which was great to tour through.

July 7, 2013 Rock Canyon RV Park

A few random shots from our home for the next 7 days....

Storm approaching from the south.

All in a row:  the Bullet, the Smartcar, the Vista, and the truck...

After the storm.

July 3-6, 2013 Westward Ho!

Here are a few of the sights we saw along our drive west from Thunder Bay, Ontario to Livingston, Montana.  You just never know what you'll see next.....

Billings, Montana

Akeley, Minnesota

Huge statue of a bison...

Huge statue of a cow....

Geese, near the Enchanted Highway in North Dakota.

Some unknown crop was blooming bright yellow.

Yellowstone River, one of the many crossings we made.

July 3, 2013 Border Crossing, High Falls, Lupines

Crossing into the USA.

High falls on the Pigeon River, which is the border between USA and Canada.

High Falls on the Pigeon River just over the line into the USA.

Lake Superior.

Lupines.  Saw these all over the sides of the roads.  Beautiful!

July 2, 2013 Thunder Bay waterfront

Today we wandered down to the waterfront/marina area of Thunder Bay.  This metropolis of over 100,000 was originally two settlements, Port Arthur and Fort William.

The day was spectacular with a warm sun and cool breeze and we enjoyed every minute.

At the marina.

A thinking man!

I hope you can enlarge this enough to read it....

The Sleeping Giant: his head is on the left.

The old Canadian Northern railway station.

The area included a popular skate park.

Plenty of artwork around the area....

Bubba and a Studebaker Silver Hawk.

Again, I hope you can enlarge this enough to read it...

The massive grain elevators mentioned in the sign above.

Interesting art that appeared to be stone shaped into balloon animals....

The Tourist Pagoda, built in 1909.  It has survived the wrecking ball and neglect and is still welcoming visitors not far from its original site beside Lake Superior.

July 1, 2013 Kakabeka Falls

Today we went to see the falls, and they are spectacular.  Reminded me of Niagara Falls, even provided plenty of cool mist (with rainbows) for us to enjoy.  The pictures tell the tale.

June 30, 2013 Driving across northern shore of Lake Superior

The drive across the northern shore of Lake Superior was fantastic.  Small towns and scenic views.  We would have taken more time but alas, our next campground was far away....

For my riding friends!
