August 6, 2013 Back in the States once again!

Today we finally got back to the states.  Staying in northern Washington State, we ventured forth to the Fidalgo Island community of Anacortes and surrounding areas.  All this is on the Puget Sound, which is full of islands both large and small.  Some islands are all by themselves, and some are islands only because rivers or creeks separate them from the mainland....  either way, it is all very beautiful!

It was COLD and WINDY by the water!
The rocky headland behind me is Cap Sante, and we went up there.
From Cap Santee, the town of Anacortes.
How about this:  3 kayaks next to a HUGE yacht.....
Bubba is part mountain goat...
Actually, we BOTH like to clamber around on rocky high places....
One of the many BIG ferries to be seen around the Puget Sound.
Down the coast in Washington Park (below Anacortes).
The outgoing tide looked like a rushing river.
Further down Fidalgo Island is Deception Pass.
Bridge over Deception Pass, with tide flowing out.
Beach at Deception Pass - wonder what these folks were fishing for?
Why,hey were fishing for salmon, of course!  This is a pink salmon.
A sun-dog, seen from the deck where we had supper in La Conner.

Ever seen an artichoke in bloom?  Neither have I, til today!

Quaint little building in La Conner called the Ice Cream Tower....
The End!
