July 27, 2013 Hail, Big Horn Dam, Abraham Lake

Today started with a dramatic hailstorm.  Lucky for us all that the hailstones were small and not the golf-ball size we keep hearing about.  Thunder in this mountain valley is much different from in the flat south - the echoes sound as if the mountains are talking to each other.  After the weather cleared, we headed out to take a look at the Big Horn Dam on the Saskatchewan River, which makes Abraham Lake.

Pea-sized hail storm, pretty exciting!

Right below the Big Horn Dam on the Saskatchewan River.

Two happy campers!

Stairway to heaven....
