July 29, 2013 A visit to Banff with our friends Gwynn & Fero

First, on our drive down to Banff, we encountered a freshly fallen dusting of snow - in JULY!  It was at 6700 feet, and the temp was 34 degrees...

What a wonderful day we had, in spite of the chilly rainy weather.  First we had a wonderful lunch at the Spaghetti Factory, then our First-Rate tour guide friends drove us around and showed us the town.  This included the Banff Springs Hotel, the Falls on the Bow River, and the Cave and Basin.  The cave and basin were part of a series of hot sulphur springs, and the water did smell like rotten eggs!  Pee-you!  While driving thru the town of Banff, we encountered two elk, grazing in somebody's front yard... !!!  They were magnificent specimens, too.

All in all, another spectacular day, but we were happy to get home and into our warm dry camper!
