August 17, 2012 Cape Sebastian

Today was one of the best days ever! We took care of chores in the morning, then in the afternoon we drove down the coast to Cape Sebastian. We drove to the top of the cape, and we visited the beaches just north and south of the cape. I finally got to do something I have always wanted to do: wade in the Pacific without freezing to death! The air was pleasant, the tide was all the way out, and off came my shoes & socks.....

There are people on the left of the rock, at the base - gives you an idea of how big that rock really is! There were seals in the surf, causing much excitement in a group of children.

The drive up to the top of Cape Sebastian. Fog rolling up the hill.

View of the beach south of the cape, which we explored. Nannie walking in the Pacific.

Low tide! These rocks sure kept our interest. We saw starfish of many different colors, green anenomes, pink anenomes, sea stars, mussels, barnacles, and lots of cool stuff!

Close-up shot of the creatures exposed by low tide. Hole-y rock!

There were lovely succulents all over the tallest rocks. Beautiful beach at low tide.

Mr. and Mrs. Pacific Beachcomber!
