August 23, 2012 Klamath River coast drive

The Klamath River empties into the Pacific in a wide delta. There's a loop drive around one side that includes some great spots for whale watching. We saw at least four of them out there.

The Klamath River near the delta. Sitting on top of Flint Ridge.

One of the best spots we found was an abandoned quarry on top of a cliff.

Notice the change in water color between the Pacific and Klamath River. One of the interesting things we saw was this WWII radar installation disguised as a farmhouse and barn. The sign explains it well.

These buildings were made of cinderblock, with fake windows, but from the air they appeared genuine. Pretty interesting!
