August 22, 2012 Trees of Mystery

Now & then we like to visit a Tourist Trap, and this one seemed interesting. It's a tract of land that was logged a long time ago, but there were some nice trees left behind. We walked the path, read the numerous signs, and even rode the "aerial tram" (read: ski lift) up to the top of the ridge. Not too bad, for a tourist trap!

Babe and Paul were greeting everyone. There was an unseen gentlemen who was the voice of Paul, speaking to the visitors and especially interacting with the children - pretty humorous at times! Paul could even wave his hand and turn his head....

Cathedral tree and baby cathedral tree. There have been numerous weddings performed at the cathedral tree. It's actually one stump with a semi-circle of trees that grew from the sides of it.

A section of tree trunk with dates marked - it was a big grandfather tree, once.

The Brotherhood Tree (another grandfather!), and one of many stumps producing new trees.

A downward view of the redwoods from the aerial tram, and Bubba with his brother - ah, um, I mean, with Bigfoot.
