It being a bit cloudy today, we decided to go see Sugarloaf Mountain and maybe hike a bit - even to the top, if the trails are ok. We got there and discovered that in summer, this place is 100% about mountain biking. There were lots and lots of young bikers riding the lift to the top and then zooming back down at breakneck speed to the bottom. At least they were wearing protective gear. (!!)
Since we always jump at the chance to ride a ski lift, we rode it up to the top of the ski area, which is NOT on Sugarloaf Mountain but beside it. There are trails up there too so we ambled around a bit. We had a funny moment as we rode the lift back down - a young fella riding up looked straight at me with a big grin and said "Hi Mom!" - we were the ONLY "geezers" on the lift..... It just struck us as pretty funny, snickered about it all day. Smart-alec whippersnapper!
